Chief Engineer, Electrical/I&C

About the role

Aecon is seeking a Chief Discipline Engineer with experience in the power generation market to lead the electrical and instrumentation & controls teams. The successful candidate will manage and develop these teams, equip them with necessary tools and resources, and ensure they meet project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop work processes, tools, and knowledge resources to improve discipline performance
• Select and recommend design/analytical software for the discipline
• Manage discipline engineers’ assignments for projects and proposals
• Analyze and document engineering practices and costs related to projects
• Assess technical adequacy of the discipline and provide technical guidance
• Guide recruiting and employee development planning
• Monitor salary administration, hiring, reduction in force, and termination
• Ensure compliance with state laws on the practice of engineering
• Interpret codes and permit processes related to the discipline
• Participate in business strategies and plans

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
• 12 years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in supervisory roles
• Professional Engineering (PE) license with the ability to obtain others through comity
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Strategic understanding of business objectives
• Organizational and team-building skills
• Ability to interpret project performance metrics and develop recovery plans

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship due to eligibility for access to nuclear facilities

Pay

$190,000 - $220,000 per year
