Chief Engineer
About the Role
The Chief Engineer has complete charge of supervision and administers all technical engineering work involved in the operation, design, maintenance, and construction of the water and sewer facilities, including operations, equipment, and structures. This role directs and supervises major projects within the plants, provides technical supervision and guidance, and interfaces with contractors and government officials on regulations, procedures, and requirements in the best interest of the Willingboro Municipal Utilities Authority (WMUA).
The WMUA operates four potable water treatment plants, five wells, a 5.22 MGD wastewater treatment plant, four pumping stations, and over 120 miles of water distribution mains and sanitary sewers to serve 13,000 customers, along with bulk water sales and sewage treatment for adjacent communities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all technical engineering work related to the operation, design, maintenance, and construction of water and sewer facilities.
- Direct and supervise major projects within treatment plants and infrastructure.
- Provide technical supervision and guidance on engineering projects.
- Interface with contractors and government officials regarding regulations, procedures, and compliance.
- Ensure the efficient operation of water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping stations, and distribution networks.
