Chief Design Officer

About The Role

The Chief Design Officer will own product design quality across the group's consumer products and brands. This is a hands-on design leadership role with direct involvement in our most important products and user experiences.

What you will be doing

• Set the design direction and quality bar across group products
• Work directly on or review critical user journeys, product concepts and interfaces
• Turn complex financial and AI workflows into simple consumer experiences
• Set standards across product design, interaction, visual design and design systems
• Review shipped products and identify specific usability and design problems
• Work with product and engineering from early concepts through production
• Recruit and assess senior product, UI and brand designers

What you will need

• Strong portfolio of shipped consumer technology products with meaningful usage
• Deep product and interaction design capability, not primarily people management
• Strong visual judgement and attention to interface details
• Ability to prototype and communicate product interactions directly
• Experience working closely with product and engineering on shipped products
• Hands-on design style - able to create, critique and materially improve design work directly
