About the role
The Chief Clinical Officer/Chief Operating Officer (CCO/COO) oversees the overall operations of Kindred Hospital New Jersey - Rahway, a 34-bed long-term acute care hospital. Key responsibilities include managing clinical, ancillary, and support departments, developing and monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Embraces and advances the National Quality Program and HRO culture
- Directs strategic planning and hospital operations
- Develops and interprets hospital policies and procedures
- Maintains licensure/certification and competency of nursing staff
- Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Oversees finance and business office functions
- Monitors community health needs and responds to them
- Works with hospital leadership to foster a positive work environment
- Collaborates with regional leadership on safety and quality initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
- Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or clinical specialty preferred
- Registered Nurse license in the state
- Five years’ experience in healthcare administration/management, including two years’ experience at a senior nursing management level in a hospital setting
- Two years’ prior COO or CEO level experience preferred
Qualifications
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission, local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Knowledge of budgeting, accounting, and management skills
- Ability to work with a large staff and diverse client base
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information
- Ability to work well with management teams and employees
- Ability to spend a limited amount of time on travel
