About the role

Lead the way in facilities excellence as a Chief Building Engineer Supervisor at CBRE! You'll oversee a skilled team of technicians and mechanics, driving high-performance maintenance operations across a dynamic portfolio of buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the training and development of staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentor opportunities.
  • Be responsible for the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Cook up and own the team's daily activities.
  • Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
  • Set and track staff and department deadlines.
  • Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate preventive maintenance programs and safety procedure manuals.
  • Ensure that the mechanics and technicians have the proper information and materials about assignments to complete work activities in a high-quality and timely fashion.
  • Develop material and labor cost estimates for work orders, preventative maintenance activities, systems, and construction projects.
  • Establish and maintain budgets for facilities maintenance.
  • Mentor others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Anticipate potential objections and persuade others, often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt a different point of view.
  • Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-discipline teams.
  • Work is guided by functional policies which impact the design of procedures and policies.
  • Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans in support of achieving functional goals.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years of job-related experience.
  • Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and managing work orders through a CMMS.
