Chief Administrative Officer
About the role
This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week onsite. Provides administrative, financial, and operational management for UCI Nature and its reserve sites. Oversees budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, facilities and space logistics, recharge administration, and contract and grant support. Serves as an administrative resource for faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with university policies, safeguarding university resources, supporting strategic planning, and facilitating the effective operation of research, educational, and public programs across multiple reserve locations.
Responsibilities
- Provides administrative, financial, and operational management for UCI Nature and its reserve sites.
- Oversees budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, facilities and space logistics, recharge administration, and contract and grant support.
- Serves as an administrative resource for faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with university policies, safeguarding university resources, supporting strategic planning, and facilitating the effective operation of research, educational, and public programs across multiple reserve locations.
- Travel to reserve locations is required a few times per year as needed.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management.
- Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
- Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
- Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
- Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- 3-5 years related experience

Pay
The expected pay range for this recruitment is $81,766.08 - $110,037.60 (Annual).
