Chickie's & Pete's Bar Helper - Part Time

Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders and cocktail staff in performance of their duties.
• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of bar on a daily basis including before, during, and after shift.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of guest areas and equipment at all times during shift, including:
  • Removing empty glasses/bottles
  • Cleaning ashtrays
  • Picking up and dumping garbage
  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Sanitizing equipment
• Recite and promote the variety of menu items and hotel services.
• Greet guests in a courteous, friendly manner and convey hotel activities to guests.
• Maintain and organize bars and storerooms including refrigerated units.
• Refill chemicals such as hand soap or glass washer chemicals.
• Maintain proper inventory of product.
• Perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

Requirements

• Knowledge of serving alcohol with care and menu products.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to operate a glassware washing machine and to refill ice bins and beer bins, utilizing ice machines, change kegs, and transport empty kegs to designated areas.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both in written and oral form.
• Basic reading, math, writing, and task completion skills required.
• Skills in compiling, coordination, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
• Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with the Alcohol Awareness Card.
• Previous bar service experience preferred or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly standing and frequently walking, reaching overhead, bending over, kneeling, and balancing during the duration of their shift. Must be able to push/pull and lift/carry 50 lbs or less frequently. The team member will frequently have repetitive use of both hands and occasional light and firm/strong grasping motions. Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision. Work Environment

Work is performed indoors alone and frequently with and around others. Team member will perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts around computer equipment and other mechanical devices. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Team member may be exposed to slippery surfaces, fumes/odor, and secondhand smoke.
