Chicken Little Test Engineer - Senior

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Chicken Little Test Engineer supporting the 46 Test Squadron - Sensors and Defensive Systems Flight at Eglin AFB, FL. This full-time role requires an active Secret clearance, 25% travel, and U.S. citizenship.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 10 years of technical experience (additional years of experience may be substituted for education).
• Active Secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Extensive experience in electronic warfare (EW) operations.
• Knowledge of and experience with radio frequency, electro-optical, and electronic combat techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet mission requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and lead/direct the work of others.

Preferred Qualifications

• 20 years of experience in electronic warfare operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering-related duties to execute test and evaluation of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems and precision guided munitions (PGM) seekers against foreign mobile targets for Project CHICKEN LITTLE.
• Applies sound engineering, physics, and mathematics principles in ISR and PGM test and evaluation.
• Assists in developing Project Chicken Little program documentation, including requirements calls, program management directives, and Program Element Monitor (PEM) responses.
• Provides individual technical effort on critical questions/issues for the customer.
• Assists in developing system requirements, functional capabilities, performance measures, design constraints, test phase entry/exit criteria, and metrics.
• Supports development test (DT), operational test (OT), force development evaluation (FDE), and certification for test readiness by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance with specifications/standards, and demonstrating system configuration stability.
• Supports the development of strategic test documents such as Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), test strategies, Integrated Test Team (ITT) Charters, Test Scenario Plans, and Modeling and Simulation Development Plans.
• Prepares, executes, reviews, and analyzes test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the test item and system-under-test development life cycles.
• Develops and writes methods of tests, test cases, test cards/procedures, test directives, technical/letter reports, test objectives, and other test process documents.
• Plans, coordinates, and monitors test projects requiring significant modification of standard practices or adaptation of instrumentation for valid results.
• Evaluates tests, assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluations, and makes recommendations on test and evaluation aspects.
