About the Role

The Food Service Worker will assist the manager with food/meal preparation, maintain cash receipts and meal records, and help complete daily reports. They will uphold high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
• Prepare a daily report verifying transactions
• Understand what is inclusive of a meal
• Ensure accurate and sanitary storage of food
• Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies, and procedures
• Use and care for kitchen equipment, especially knives
• Timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
• Add garnishments to ensure customer satisfaction and visual appeal
• Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking/serving equipment
• Adhere to food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
• Connect with the Manager daily to understand and prepare the menu accurately
• Supervise food temperature requirements
• Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
• Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
• Follow cleanliness procedures, including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
• Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary manner
• Perform other duties as assigned, including tasks in other kitchen areas

Qualifications

• Food Service Certificate as needed
• Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure

Physical Demands

This role may have physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing. It may also require the use of uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
