Chess Instructor for After School Classes

About the role

We are looking for dynamic instructors who love teaching chess to school-age children in Boston. Opportunities range from 6 to 18 weeks and pay $80-$120 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Conceive of and create an age-appropriate curriculum for your class
• Create memorable experiences for the children in your class to help them grow and develop a passion for chess
• Consistently arrive at your class on time (or early!) prepared with the lesson plan for the day
• Help children understand why chess is so wonderful and how it's helped shape you as a person

Requirements

• A fun, enthusiastic, and adaptable instructor
• Experience teaching school age children
• Ability to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Bring your own voice and creativity to each class
• Be cooperative, supportive, and flexible
• Be dependable, proactive, and thrive with autonomy

Qualifications

• Relevant teaching experience
• If no formal teaching experience, provide other relevant experience or training
• New to teaching? Interested in after school assistant positions
