About the Role

Fresh Mark is seeking a full-time Chemistry Lab Technician to perform food chemistry testing on meat products. This is a 100% on-site position located in Canton, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Perform food chemistry testing on meat products using standard methods, including:
  • Protein% (Kjeldahl)
  • Moisture% (Dry Oven)
  • Fat% (Acid hydrolysis)
  • Salt% (Mohr Method/titration)
• Use LIMS to receive samples and record test results
• Perform temperature checks and thermometer calibrations
• Conduct pH checks and water activity checks
• Maintain and order laboratory reagents and other supplies
• Maintain laboratory equipment, calibrations, and preventative maintenance
• Participate in proficiency testing
• Follow Good Lab Practices (GLPs) and adhere to all safety policies, including general housekeeping

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a chemistry or microbiological laboratory
• AS or BS degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field is preferred
• High comfort level with working independently and proficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time-management and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize and demonstrate a strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, team-oriented mindset, motivation, and willingness to learn new skills and methods
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment

Schedule

Work schedule may include weekends. This position is eligible for overtime pay.
