Chemistry Analyst Intern- Sumitomo Biorational Company

About the role

As a Chemistry Analyst Intern at Sumitomo Biorational you will learn and be exposed to various Quality Control test methods for product release, including High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP‑OES), Capillary Electrophoresis‑Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (CE‑SDS) and various physical‑properties tests. You will work within current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), complete projects assigned by Quality department management, write project charters, protocols, procedures, and deliver a final presentation.

Responsibilities

• Testing of raw materials, in‑process, and finished goods.
• Perform chemical testing using analytical instrumentation including HPLC and related methods.
• Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and perform simple repairs as needed.
• Complete bench records and data entry.
• Clean and maintain lab equipment and instrumentation.
• Prepare standards and stock solutions.
• Maintain test methods and test procedures.
• Enter data within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Conduct and/or assist with laboratory investigations and deviations.
• Adhere to testing schedules to accomplish a high volume of critical work without compromising result integrity while meeting manufacturing scheduling needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently majoring in Chemistry or a closely related field (desired).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand scientific procedures.
• Flexibility to work some limited off‑shift and weekend hours.
