Chemist II

Piper Companies is seeking a Chemist II to join a leading distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceuticals and consumer health goods company located in Miami, Florida. The Chemist II will perform testing to support quality control activities in a regulated laboratory environment. Responsibilities of the Chemist II: Prepare samples, test solutions, and compounds for laboratory personnelPerform quality control testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished productsOperates laboratory equipment, such as analytical balances, pH meters, HPLC, GC, UV, IR, Dissolution equipment, Disintegration apparatus, etc.Evaluate and analyze data obtained from chemical testing to create proper records in accordance to cGMP/GDP and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Conduct deviation and Out of Specification (OOS) investigations, report findings and initiate CAPA's Qualifications for the Chemist II: 3-5 years of manufacturing quality control experienceStrong analytical chemistry skills and have hands on HPLC experienceExperience with conducting deviations and OOS investigationsBachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological discipline Compensation Salary Range: $65,000-$75,0000Comprehensive Benefits: Medical and Dental Benefits, Vision, 401K with employee match, PTO and Paid Holidays Keywords: chemist II, chemist, laboratory, laboratory equipment, lab, quality control, quality control testing, pH, HLPC, deviation investigation, DI, OOS investigations, Out of Specification investigations This job opens for applications on 10/15/2026.
