Chemist I - Analytical

About the Role

The Chemist I is responsible for utilizing established methods and standard lab equipment/instrumentation (HPLC, IC) to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze routine pharmaceutical substances and formulations.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS)
• Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations in performing all assigned duties
• Follow written and oral instruction
• Prepare reagents and solutions required for testing
• Perform laboratory testing and record results in compliance with cGMP’s (if applicable) and internal QMS
• Work and think independently, yet share ideas and work towards team goals
• Use a personal computer including word processing, spreadsheets, email and database applications
• Express thoughts in a clear concise manner both orally and written
• Work to establish the ability to effectively prioritize and plan multiple work activities with varying deadlines and complexities

Requirements

• An associate degree in chemistry or related science with 2+ years industrial experience OR
• A Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science with 1-2 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical industry.
• Communication Proficiency

Qualifications

This position requires an associate degree in chemistry or related science with 2+ years industrial experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science with 1-2 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical industry. Communication proficiency is also required.

Skills

Must be able to work independently, follow safety rules, and adhere to quality management systems. Must have strong communication skills and be proficient in using computers and laboratory equipment.

Pay

This is a full-time role with a great benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Work Schedule: 1:00pm - 9:30pm with 3% shift differential

Restrictions

• Medical marijuana cards are not allowed
• Random drug testing on all employees

Work Environment

This job operates in a laboratory environment. Physical Demands: The role requires standing for prolonged periods of time; dexterity in fingers and hands to perform complex and precise manipulations; ability to walk and stoop; ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds; see in the normal visual range including the ability to distinguish colors and shades and hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
