Essential Functions
- Monitor the performance of all equipment, gauges, and charts in the treatment plant and pump stations; replace equipment when necessary.
- Operate, maintain and repair malfunctions at the wastewater treatment plant.
- Maintain, modify or repair instrumentation and control equipment including recorders, flow meters, and other water quality monitoring equipment.
- Calibrate, clean and ensure proper function of pH and ORP probes and controllers.
- Operate and maintain rise pump stations.
- Clean wet wells and operate pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment process.
- Setup hazardous waste cubic yard storage containers with proper labeling.
- Operate sludge pump and filter press.
- Collect, segregate, and transport hazardous waste from generation points to the hazardous waste storage area.
- Label and sign appropriate hazardous and chemical reactants.
- Inspect facility where hazardous waste is stored and evaluate compliance; track accumulation start dates of satellite storage containers.
- Compile and maintain list of hazardous waste needing disposal and organize the waste for transport and disposal.
- Review hazardous waste manifests and accompanying land disposal restriction notification forms for compliance.
- Respond to hazardous waste spills in emergency situations.
- Assist in other duties as needed to ensure environmental compliance throughout the chemical processing facility.

Education & Skills & Abilities
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required.
- Experience: 2 plus years of experience in waste treatment and hazardous waste.
Physical Requirements
- Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth): Sense of Sound - Able to hear in normal audio range.
- Sense of Smell.
- Sense of Touch.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): All required PPE.
Work Environment
- The position involves working with and around hazardous chemicals, paints and solvents.
- The majority of work is performed in shop conditions and can be in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer season.
