About the Role

As a Chemical Process Engineer at Solstice Advanced Materials, you will use your technical expertise to ensure the operation produces products that meet all quality, cost, and efficiency requirements in a 24/7 manufacturing facility. This role involves identifying ways to improve safety, quality, yields, and the capability of existing processes while assisting in the scale-up and implementation of developmental products and processes. You will lead continuous process improvement to drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide technical guidance to the operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for manufacturing processes
  • Provide off-hours support for abnormal and non-routine operations, including unit turnarounds
  • Understand process models, heat and material balances, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, layout, basic control schemes, and equipment specifications
  • Oversee production to ensure targets are met and track OEE and MTBF; identify and correct bad actors
  • Support operations in troubleshooting daily process issues as needed
  • Identify process KPIs and work independently or on a team to reduce process variability and waste through process unit operations optimization
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement process changes/control plans to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead productivity projects yielding significant reductions in defects/costs and increased productivity
  • Maintain engineering documents and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) that execute recommendations to eliminate process safety hazards
  • Work on sustainability projects that optimize energy consumption and reduce operating expenses in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Utilize Six Sigma/Statistical tools to drive process improvements
  • Utilize Management of Change (MOC) process to manage changes
  • Develop new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or update existing ones as needed
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of chemical processes and solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development and improvement
  • Provide technical expertise and support in troubleshooting and process optimization
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards

Requirements

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

We value:

  • Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing (preferred)
  • Chemical manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • Excellent computer literacy (e.g., MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, AI Tools, TrueView/AutoCAD View)
  • Experience with identifying process changes, developing, and executing recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization (Operator to CEO)
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience scoping projects with business-level impact
  • Ability to work without guidance or supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and pivot based on rapid decision-making
  • Ability to accurately identify patterns to problem-solve
  • Experience with Management of Change (MOC) process
  • Experience with Process Simulation software (ASPEN, HTRI, PIPE-FLO) for chemical process equipment design and process modeling
  • Experience with Honeywell’s Experion and Uniformance Compensation

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $96,886 - $121,108. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice Advanced Materials considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
