Essential Duties
- Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality.
- Conduct process simulations, heat and material balance calculations, and scale-up activities from lab/pilot to production.
- Prepare and review P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and other technical documentation.
- Monitor and analyze process performance, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, yield improvement, and waste minimization.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
- Lead or participate in hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), risk assessments, and safety reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Collaborate with R&D, operations, and project teams to implement new technologies and process improvements.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
- Provide training and mentorship to plant personnel on process engineering fundamentals and safe work practices.
- Support capital projects by defining process requirements, evaluating vendor proposals, and overseeing commissioning/start-up activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards.
- Track and report process KPIs to management, recommending strategies for continuous improvement.
- Manage chemical process improvement and expansion projects, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements while meeting project timelines and budget objectives.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
- Experience: 7-10 years of experience, PSM experience is preferred
- Travel: 10%

- Work Environment: While performing the duties of any field-based position, an employee may be exposed to various outside weather conditions including but not limited to rain, humidity, snow, and/or heat during daytime hours and/or nighttime hours. The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to loud for extended periods of time.
