Chemical Operator - Rotating Shifts (D) - Up to $36.70 per hour including Shift Differential

About the Role

The Primient Process Operator role offers a dynamic manufacturing career with varied responsibilities beyond typical factory work. Each shift presents new challenges and learning opportunities, allowing you to develop key skills and progress toward becoming a skilled technician.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of a highly automated, state-of-the-art process system with a strong focus on safety.
• Perform tasks involving climbing stairs and ladders, and working in warm and cold temperatures.
• Lift and carry up to 55 lbs as needed.
• Adhere to all safety rules and identify/correct potential safety issues.
• Work both independently and in a team environment.
• Demonstrate proficient written, verbal, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel).
• Follow SOPs and PM task instructions, communicating job status to production teams.
• Apply strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of processing equipment (pumps, control valves, tanks, heat exchangers, centrifuges, ion exchange, activated carbon beds, filtration equipment, evaporators, crystallizers, dryers, classification systems, packaging systems, and process analytical devices).
• Perform routine work permitting and area lab analyses (titrations, density measurements, process sampling).
• Troubleshoot lab equipment, systems, and recurring equipment problems, implementing solutions.
• Maintain detailed shift logs and assist I&E technicians/mechanics as needed.
• Request engineering/vendor assistance when required.
• Collaborate with process engineers, production technicians, and quality control to improve efficiency.
• Clean up after jobs and perform housekeeping duties.
• Understand product, steam, and airflow throughout the area.
• Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and work permitting for all tasks in the area.

Requirements

• Ability to work a 365/24/7 rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office tools and Excel.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with processing equipment.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Schedule

This role follows the D-Shift rotating schedule, repeating every 28 days:

• 2 days: 6 am–2 pm
• 1 day: 2 pm–10 pm
• 4 days: 10 pm–6 am
• 2 days off
• 1 day: 6 am–2 pm
• 4 days: 2 pm–10 pm
• 1 day: 10 pm–6 am
• 2 days off
• 4 days: 6 am–2 pm
• 2 days: 2 pm–10 pm
• 4 days off

Pay

Starting pay of $28.73 per hour, with shift differential bringing total compensation up to $36.70 per hour. Overtime opportunities and advancement through a pay-for-skill system are available.
