Chemical Operator
We are looking for a Chemical Operator to join our Care Chemicals (EM) team in Cincinnati, OH. About the role
As a Chemical Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the production equipment in the Cincinnati, OH plant. This includes operation of chemical processing equipment such as reactors, refining, and filtration systems. You will also transfer materials to and from other departments, load tank trucks and rail cars for customer shipments, and perform the following duties during your rotating shift:
- Load and unload tanks and rail cars, and receive truck deliveries
- Collect samples from tank cars and vessels
- Conduct visual inspections of operating equipment to determine current operating status
- Demonstrate effective operations of the DCS in daily work environment
- Read, record, and interpret data from instruments (reactors, tanks, pumps, filtration systems, etc.) and make corrective adjustments as required for efficient production runs
- Operate all production equipment with minimal supervision
- Use computer systems to complete work assignments
- Participate in all required safety training and wear proper personal protective equipment when working in the plant area
- Perform housekeeping to maintain production and operations in a neat and orderly condition
- Work and communicate effectively with Supply Chain Planners, Logistics Planner, Production Coordinator, Maintenance, Lab, team members, etc., to accomplish high-quality standards that meet or exceed customer requirements
- Support and adhere to the principles of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care®, EPA, and OSHA initiatives by protecting the environment, health, safety, and security of our employees, contractors, carriers, distributors, visitors, customers, and neighbors
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- DCS console operating knowledge and SAP experience (preferred)
- Excellent safety standards and strong troubleshooting skills
