Chemical/Materials Operator

About the role

Responsible for mixing chemicals in a production area. Starts, operates, tends, stops, and cleans mixing machines. Inspects product to ensure high quality standards. Works as part of a team under the supervision of a shift leader.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical and chemical mixing of raw materials.
• Measure, grade, and feed batches of raw materials into production machinery.
• Operate production line equipment.
• Report equipment faults to maintenance staff or supervisor.
• Monitor the production process and carry out basic testing and quality checks.
• Store goods and raw materials in a factory or warehouse.
• Use lifting equipment and forklift trucks as needed.
• Pack goods ready for shipment in crates and other containers.
• Clean and maintain work areas and machinery.
• Handle hazardous waste/chemicals.

Requirements

• High School diploma minimum.

Skills

• Good computer skills.
• Excellent math skills.
• Willing and able to work with chemicals.
• Willing and able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to train other operators in all aspects of the department.
• Ability to follow instructions and lead area employees with little supervision.
• Ability to follow all safety and environmental standards for the department.
