About the role
This position supports the development of solutions for the Coatings Industry in a chemistry lab. Duties include mixing chemicals, spraying paint electrostatically or pneumatically, testing paint samples and physical test panels, and documenting activities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor chemical processes and test products as part of quality assurance.
- Perform repetitive lab activities such as setting up lab equipment and preparing chemical solutions under the supervision of chemists and other team members.
- Conduct tests, interpret and analyze data, compile results, prepare reports, and present conclusions.
- Assist chemists in lab work, taking on tasks previously performed by highly trained chemists.
Requirements
- Associate's degree with 2 years of practical laboratory experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a scientific field from an accredited institution.
- Experience in laboratory activities, including performing experiments and basic chemical mixing.
- Familiarity with ordering and cataloging materials is a plus.
- Experience in technical documentation desired.
- Basic knowledge of chemical instrumentation, compatibility, handling, and storage.
- College-level (Junior level) understanding of chemistry, physics, and engineering.

- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with email, MS Word, and MS Excel.
