Description
We are seeking an experienced Chemical Process Engineer in Portland, OR with a strong focus on technical quality, design review, and engineering oversight. This role is ideal for someone who excels at evaluating the work of others, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and upholding high engineering standards across complex projects. You will play a critical role in maintaining quality across a multi-discipline, highly collaborative team by reviewing process designs, validating calculations, and ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule expectations.
Responsibilities
- Perform conceptual and detailed design for advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Use best practices and industry knowledge to solve complex engineering problems.
- Perform technical validation of calculations, specifications, and design assumptions to ensure consistency and defensibility of engineering work products.
- Perform quality reviews on designs performed by others.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on basic engineering applications and principles.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and attention to detail to uphold high engineering standards across all projects.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or similar engineering degree.
- At least 8 years of experience in a chemical process engineering role on facilities designs in advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical or oil & gas.
- At least one year of semiconductor experience (ideally).
- Experience with semiconductor facilities systems.
- Experience with common building design software such as Bluebeam and Navisworks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies, errors, or gaps in technical deliverables.
- Familiarity with construction deliverables including P&IDs, detail sheets, and calculations.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Coaching mindset for improving quality of work with team members.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams with members based in various regions.
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Available to work a minimum of 20 hours/week, preferably more than that.
- Flexible to work hours starting as early as 6 a.m. to as late as 6 p.m. PT.

Pay
$72.00 - $85.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.
Schedule
We’re seeking someone available to work a minimum of 20 hours/week, preferably more than that. Meetings may start as early as 6 a.m. to as late as 6 p.m. PT so flexibility is needed.
