Chemical Engineering Intern
About the role
In this role, you will own a defined design project or project segment, contributing to new product development, sensor design improvement, or technology investigation efforts. You will design and execute laboratory experiments and evaluations to characterize sensor or system performance, develop test plans, and propose design approaches for investigating technical questions or validating design concepts. You will analyze experimental data, translate findings into actionable design recommendations, and document results through technical reports, design summaries, and presentations to project teams and leadership. You will also research and source materials, components, or equipment needed to support design objectives, collaborate with engineers, chemists, technicians, manufacturing personnel, and other stakeholders across functional disciplines, and support test solution preparation, laboratory equipment maintenance, and test setup development. Maintaining laboratory safety by safely handling chemicals and following established testing procedures is essential, and you will support additional technical initiatives as business needs arise.

Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or chemistry
- Zero (0) years of related professional experience required
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person at a Twin Cities location (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred qualifications
- Coursework or project experience in analytical chemistry, electrochemistry, or sensor design
- Familiarity with measurement technologies such as pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, or optical sensing
- Laboratory experience, including safe chemical handling practices
- Prior internship or undergraduate research experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay
The hourly pay for this role is $24–$28, commensurate with the year in school and experience each candidate brings to the role.
