Responsibilities
- Develop strong understanding of the characteristics, manufacturing processes, and chemistry related to various fibers products produced in the division
- Complete process improvement projects that improve quality, streamline manufacturing, or reduce production related costs
- Effectively utilize problem solving and statistical techniques to address process improvement opportunities
- Develop meaningful relationships with manufacturing, quality, and technology partners to complete project work
- Provide mentorship as needed to other engineers in the Fibers Process Development group
- Championing a Zero Incident Mindset in the Technology and Manufacturing environments, as well as identifying and driving safety improvement projects
- Communicate effectively with all team members and stakeholders
- Develop connection to the business needs and forecasts of the Fibers Division to drive project creation and timely completion
Qualifications
- B.S. degree or higher in Chemical Engineering from accredited college or university
- Three (3) or more years of experience in manufacturing environment
- Strong desire and behaviors for working safely and looking out for the wellbeing of others
- Demonstration of sound technical and problem solving skills
- Bias for action, ability to multitask, meet deadlines and prioritize work
- Good communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively work with cross functional teams
