About the role

Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club is a premier workplace in Northeast Florida. They are currently seeking individuals with a passion for joining their team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure food production meets the specifications of the Executive Chef regarding quality, presentation, sanitation, and cost control.
  • Work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
  • Arrive on time, wear proper uniform, and maintain cleanliness and hair standards.
  • Attend required training, safety courses, and meetings.
  • Consult with the Executive Chef on menus, specials, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Oversee kitchen personnel and maintain high sanitation and safety standards.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff, including utility personnel and servers.
  • Manage food and labor costs, exercise portion control, and assist with scheduling.
  • Assist in food inventory, maintenance, and payroll in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef or Director of Food and Beverage.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • 3 years of professional kitchen experience in saucier, prep, banquet, pantry, and hot line roles.
  • Working knowledge of 5 basic sauce groups, soup preparations, food products, cooking temperatures, and sanitation standards.
  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety features.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work on feet, lift 50 pounds, and work in a hot environment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
  • Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a hot environment.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety features.
  • Ability to manage food and labor costs.
