Responsibilities
- Assume responsibilities of Room Chef in their absence.
- Work with Restaurant Manager and front of the house staff to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Create and maintain a sanitary, productive, and team-oriented work environment.
- Ensure quality food products and presentations.
- Teach and develop kitchen staff while maintaining a consistent product with pride.
- Maintain food cost, labor cost, and expenses within budget guidelines.
- Maintain attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, in a professional manner.
- A minimum of a two-year Culinary Arts School or equivalent technical training in the food industry.
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a line-level supervisor or chef in a specialty room, casual dining, or buffet restaurant environment.
- A neat and professional appearance preferred.
- Bilingual abilities preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
- Food Safety Employee Training required.
- Food Handler’s Card required.
About the Role
The position involves a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks to be handled under time constraints. It also requires handling a heavy business volume and managing sensitive situations involving staff and guests in a timely manner. Compliance with policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions are essential.
