About the Hotel

Berghoferin Fine Hotel & Hideaway is a boutique sanctuary of just 13 suites, set in a small mountain hamlet in southern South Tyrol at 1,500 meters above sea level near the border with Val di Fiemme (Trentino) in the westernmost Dolomites. The hotel combines the charm of a meticulously curated private estate with all the amenities of luxury hospitality, blending alpine authenticity with refined luxury. Remodelled in 2022/2023, it attracts a highly international clientele seeking a cultivated and sophisticated experience. The food and beverage offering operates at a consistently high level, with a clear ambition for its cuisine, wine, and service across all F&B outlets, particularly the fine-dining restaurant.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Rang for the ongoing summer season (approximately until the end of October), with the possibility of renewal for future seasons. The role is ideal for professionals with a refined service mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility, aiming to grow within a high-level hospitality environment. Experience in fine-dining service is required, with at least two (preferably more) relevant roles as a Chef de Rang.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for assigned tables/area, anticipating guest needs and delivering personalized service.
  • Welcome guests, take orders, and provide professional advice on food and beverages, handling special requests or dietary requirements.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with the kitchen and bar to ensure courses are served in the correct sequence and timing.
  • Serve food and beverages according to fine-dining standards, including wine and bar service.
  • Prepare and maintain tables, side stations, and service tools, ensuring everything is spotless and properly arranged before, during, and after service.
  • Support junior staff and collaborate closely with service management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle unexpected issues or guest complaints gracefully and step in wherever needed in a small team.
  • Monitor service standards, table presentation, and guest satisfaction continuously.
  • Handle or assist with billing accurately when required.

Benefits

  • Structured 6-day workweek in high season with flexible day off; in low season, up to two days off per week are possible (hotel and restaurant closed Monday after breakfast until Wednesday midday).
  • Staff accommodation (single-room) provided free of charge.
  • Complimentary staff meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, soft drinks, and coffee—also on days off.
  • Provision and in-house cleaning of high-quality staff uniforms during employment.
  • Free Wi-Fi and on-site parking with access to the hotel’s electric car charging station.
  • Work in the prosperous region of South Tyrol, renowned for its excellence in hospitality, surrounded by the unspoiled nature of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. The area offers numerous outdoor activities and is only 30 minutes by car from Egna/Ora or Cavalese (accessible by public transport).
  • Opportunity to work in high-end hospitality at a unique, independent, and intimate 5-star hotel as part of a small team where every individual plays a key role.
  • Pleasant and stimulating work environment within a young, dynamic team that fosters openness, inclusivity, and professional development.
