CHEF DE PARTIE
About the role
We are seeking a Chef de Partie to support our Sous Chef in managing all catering functions and delivering Hotel Services within Jewish Care’s Homes and Community Centres. The role involves overseeing one area of the kitchen, ensuring food standards are met, and providing excellent customer care.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef to manage and deliver all catering services across the organisation
- Maintaining resident’s liberty, dignity and safety
- Monitoring and enforcing food hygiene and Health & Safety practices
- Overseeing food production to the agreed standard
- Developing innovative approaches to presentation, menu planning, and optimizing the cooking process
- Reviewing and executing the menu regularly, adapting to seasonal changes, market trends, and cultural requirements
- Meeting the special needs and dietary requirements of residents, demonstrating awareness of cultural and religious preferences
Requirements
- City & Guilds 7051/7062 or equivalent qualification
- Health & Hygiene NVQ Level 2 or QCF equivalent
- Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in multi-site operations
- Experience of high standard food preparation
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen awareness
- Knowledge of cultural requirements and producing a varied menu
- Awareness of waste disposal techniques and infection control
- Awareness of COSHH and CQC regulations
Qualifications
- City & Guilds 7051/7062 or equivalent qualification
- Health & Hygiene NVQ Level 2 or QCF equivalent
Skills
- Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in multi-site operations
- High standard food preparation skills
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen awareness
- Understanding of cultural requirements and menu planning

The pay for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This post is working 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days including some weekends. Shifts are either 7.00am to 3.30pm or 10.30am - 19.00pm.
