About the role
The Chef de Cuisine at Sand Valley is responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation, and collaborating with the executive chef to develop innovative menu concepts.
Responsibilities
- Oversee kitchen staff and ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.
- Develop and implement new menu items in collaboration with the executive chef.
- Collaborate with the beverage team to create complementary dining experiences.
- Manage inventory and procurement to optimize costs and maintain stock levels.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional culinary experience, preferably in a fine dining setting.
- Proven ability to manage a kitchen team and execute complex recipes.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with food cost management and budgeting.
Qualifications
- Valid food handler certification.
- Knowledge of local and seasonal ingredients.
- Experience with wine pairing and service.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
