Our 291-bed, acute care hospital features the San Diego Spine & Joint Center, a highly credentialed acute rehabilitation center, the Paradise Health & Senior Center, a modern cardiac catheterization lab, comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour emergency services, and behavioral health services across two campuses.

Responsibilities

• Establish and oversee production practices to provide quality food service for patients, cafeteria visitors, physician dining, and catered events.
• Provide staff education and development in culinary skills, food handling, and sanitation practices.
• Supervise production employees and food service workers to ensure compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• Five (5) years of experience in healthcare food service with commercial or institutional cooking experience.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Food Safety Certification from an accredited organization within the first 90 days of hire (must maintain current).
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets desired.
• County-specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and maintained current.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $25.26 to $28.80 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
