About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us to cheer on the walkers at our annual Walk to End Alzheimer's in Silicon Valley, on Saturday, October 10th. Cheer leading stations are areas where groups will gather along different intersections and streets on the course to encourage and motivate walkers. This is a great opportunity for high school or college cheerleaders. Volunteers will be placed in small groups together.
Responsibilities
- Encourage and motivate walkers through cheering and positive gestures
- Support walkers by providing water and other refreshments
- Ensure safety and supervision of volunteers and walkers
- Participate in brief training session before the event
Requirements
- Must be 16 years old or older
- Must be able to commit to a few hours on Saturday, October 10th, 2026 from 07:45 to 12:30 PST
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Qualifications
- Experience with cheerleading or similar physical activity
- Positive attitude and ability to interact with people of all ages
- Ability to follow instructions and work within a team
