About the Role
As a Cheddar Operator I, you will safely and efficiently package and seal cheddar cheese into 640-pound boxes. Responsibilities
- Set up the production area for daily operations.
- Manufacture, fill, and drain boxes according to specifications.
- Prepare boxes and place them into the vacuum chamber.
- Operate vacuum chambers and record information as specified.
- Remove boxes from vacuum chambers, hang them on rails for the required time, then transfer to the seal line for final sealing.
- Prepare box cards for sealed boxes per recipe and place cheese into the pre-cooler.
- Assist other Cheddar team members as needed.
- Clean the 640 room after daily production and prepare supplies for the next day.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Adhere to safety protocols, including stopping unsafe acts, reporting hazards, and supporting safety policies.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).
- No prior experience necessary; in-house training provided.
- Lift Truck License required (in-house training provided).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Basic computer skills for data input and retrieval.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, adapt quickly, and think independently.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow verbal and written instructions, including routine and repetitive tasks.
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain constructive working relationships.
Pay
Starting rate: $24.73 per hour. Two pay increases within the first year, up to an additional $1.00 per hour. Double-time pay on Sundays.
Schedule
3:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
