Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service
• Escorts customers to products, secures items, loads/unloads heavy items, and passes along customer suggestions or requests
• Answers the telephone and provides friendly, helpful service to customers
• Operates cash register accurately, scans product, and handles various transactions
• Restocks shelves, cleans shelves, and maintains cleanliness of the work area
• Communicates clearly and distinctly on the intercom or telephone system
• Perceives immediate surroundings for customer needs and store safety
• Assists store management as required

• Does arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
• Understands and follows verbal or demonstrated instructions

Qualifications

No formal education or experience requirements. Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must have vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision. Must be able to perform the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. This is a fast-paced work environment frequently exposed to temperature extremes and possible dampness, with possible equipment movement hazards from a pallet jack, electrical shock, and exposure to chemicals and solvents.
