Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service
• Escorts customers to products, secures items, loads/unloads heavy items, and passes along customer suggestions or requests
• Answers the telephone and provides friendly, helpful service to customers
• Works with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Operates cash register accurately, scans product, redeems coupons, and handles various payment methods
• Plants merchandise in bags or boxes, gives packages to customers, and assists courtesy personnel as needed
• Answers customer questions and concerns, and follows-up with appropriate personnel
• Understands and follows local, state, and company policies on sales of tobacco, liquor, and lottery tickets
• Stocks, faces, rotates merchandise, cleans shelves, and maintains cleanliness of the work area
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress

• Exposes to temperature extremes, possible dampness, and possible equipment movement hazards from a pallet jack, electrical shock, and exposure to chemicals and solvents

Qualifications

No formal education or experience requirements. Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform these tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
