This position is for local candidates. It does not pay per diem.

Responsibilities

  • Execute job deliverables according to customer specifications and contract requirements.
  • Ensure all project work is compliant with installation standards and performed safely.
  • Promote and monitor the safety of team members.
  • Prepare sites to ensure maximum optimization of construction work procedures.
  • Clean debris, trash, and hazardous materials from construction sites.
  • Load and unload equipment and materials from trucks; restock trucks with supplies; distribute materials at the job site safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare ground trenches for pipes and utility lines using picks, rakes, shovels, etc.
  • Assist in installing pipes and drains; measure, mark, cut, join, wrap, seal, and bed sections of underground pipe.
  • Erect temporary structures and fill potholes to facilitate construction.
  • Use hand tools to cut and shape materials as instructed.
  • Identify utilities and potential hazards; protect dig crews from utility hits and assist with manual digging.
  • Place traffic signs to warn of construction in process.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery.
  • Clean and maintain construction equipment and company vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety protocols.
  • Assist tradesmen in completing skilled tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Follow proper safety and incident reporting procedures.
  • Report problems to the Foreman or Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Vocational training is strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of gas installation techniques and standards preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, safety, and quality standards.
  • Ability to detect unsafe or hazardous conditions of equipment and work environment.
  • Precise hand-eye coordination.
  • Willingness to learn from others.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Able and willing to work long hours, including day, night, and weekend shifts as needed.
  • Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Able to climb a minimum of 5 rungs of an extension ladder.
  • Ability to travel to project sites typically within a 4-hour radius of the home office.
  • Able to work in outside environments subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.
