Chassis Weld Group Leader

About the Role

Supervise and lead all team leads and team members in all aspects of their jobs. Coordinate activities to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations while promoting a team environment and improving all methods.

Responsibilities

• Leads and directs activities of hourly workforce to ensure two-way communication, development of skills, resolution of concerns, and efficiency of performance.
• Evaluates, develops, and ensures appropriate training processes are completed when employees move to different jobs.
• Aids team members in solving problems or concerns that affect their performance; evaluates issues and consults Manager and/or Human Resources as needed.
• Reviews production schedules to ensure manufacturing of product(s) is completed and scheduled delivery dates are met.
• Plans and reviews production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
• Resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent delays.
• Reports machine or personnel issues to the next direct member of leadership or management.
• Ensures quality requirements and procedures for the area are understood and met.
• Develops and coordinates cost reduction activities to achieve yearly targets.
• Monitors and adjusts to meet expectations for quality, productivity, safety, and 5S.
• Regular attendance is required; ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
• Must be flexible to work in all areas of the department regardless of duties listed to accomplish YKTA goals and objectives.

Requirements

• Five years of production experience with a minimum of two years in a supervisory position.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Team Leader/Supervisor related to automotive Welding or E-coat.
• Plex experience is a plus.
• Presentation skills are a plus.

Work Environment

Work is conducted in an industrial office/plant setting with frequent movement throughout the facility. Exposure to high noise levels and equipment used in stamping, welding, or E-coat environments.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 33 lbs.
• Extended periods of standing on the plant floor.
• Able to traverse the plant facility.
