Charter Bus Driver
About the role
The Charter Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating a gas or diesel bus on routes for the University, observing all state and city speed and safety regulations. The Charter Bus Driver reports to Vehicle Services Manager.
Responsibilities
The position is also responsible for providing excellent customer service to passengers and following safety policies of the University.
Requirements
- Must possess strong customer service skills
- Ability to drive for the authorized period of time as outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation
- Must be knowledgeable with the Hours of Service (Log Book) requirements
- Ability to successfully pass required DOT physical
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of charter bus driving experience are required. Three (3) to five (5) years of charter bus driving experience are preferred.
Skills
Must have a valid CDL Class B License with P Endorsement, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.
Benefits and Pay
Salary: $35,360 Annualized
Schedule
Mon through Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional extended hours based on needs of the department and assigned trips.
