Chart Prep Medical Assistant-(Full Time-Hybrid/Remote)

North Country Healthcare (NCH) is a non-profit affiliation of four medical facilities—Androscoggin Valley Hospital, North Country Home Health & Hospice Agency, Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital, and Weeks Medical Center—located in the White Mountains Region of New Hampshire. NCH includes numerous physicians and medical providers at multiple locations, delivering integrated patient care through community hospitals, specialty clinics, and home health and hospice services. About the role

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in delivering quality patient care under the supervision of healthcare providers in a medical office setting. The CMA is responsible for performing clinical and administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the office, ensuring compassionate and effective service to patients. Candidates must reside in NH, VT, ME, or RI. Hybrid travel will be required to come into the office on occasion or when needed.

Responsibilities

• Add patients' medical history to the electronic medical record using past medical office notes and patient-provided questionnaires.
• Maintain continuity of care by proactively requesting and integrating external medical histories, including past surgical notes, recent laboratory results, and diagnostic imaging from previous providers.
• Accurately document current medication lists and flag known allergies or missing health screenings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Adhere to facility Values, Service Excellence, and Standards of Excellence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from a recognized certifying body (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA).
• Association-accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff) or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), with renewal on a regular basis (up to a three-month grace period after expiration).
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Experience in a medical office environment is an advantage.
