Purpose
To sort through textile in order to eliminate the storage of excess unacceptable product.
Responsibilities
- Continually sort through donated textile, while separating good from bad product
- Correctly label carts and Gaylords as SORTED, SEASONAL or BALE
- Transfer carts and Gaylords to the appropriate staging area within the plant
- Weigh product as directed by supervisor
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
- Follow safety procedures and report injuries and safety hazards
- Maintain good housekeeping skills including sweeping and cleaning work area at the end of shift
- Maintain a level of processing performance of at least 4 carts, 6 Gaylords or any combination thereof per day
- Develop the ability to sort acceptable from unacceptable donations
- Ability to work productively without close supervision
- Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with all employees, participants, customers and consumers working with and for Goodwill Industries
- Other duties as assigned by the Charlotte Plant Supervisor, Transportation Supervisor, Operations Manager, Retail Director or Vice President of Retail and Donated Goods
