Charleston Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney

About the role

MGC is an industry leading civil litigation firm celebrating 31 years of excellence with 22 offices across 12 states. We are seeking attorneys to join our Workers' Compensation team in Charleston, SC. Remote/hybrid options will be considered after training/integration with the team. The position includes a membership track with defined benchmarks, a formal mentorship structure, and hybrid work opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in South Carolina or have pending South Carolina bar exam results.
• 4-5 years of practice experience.
