Position is full-time, working 8-hour evening shifts (11:00 AM – 7:30 PM) at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, CA.

About the role

The Operating Room (OR) Charge RN provides clinical leadership and operational oversight of daily surgical services while maintaining direct patient care responsibilities as a circulating nurse across all surgical specialties. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant perioperative care delivery, balancing real-time operational coordination with hands-on intraoperative nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and operational oversight of daily surgical services
  • Maintain direct patient care responsibilities as a circulating nurse across all surgical specialties
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant perioperative care delivery
  • Balance real-time operational coordination with hands-on intraoperative nursing practice

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • National Provider BLS – American Heart Association (upon hire)
  • California Registered Nurse License (upon hire)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certificate – NIH Stroke Scale Training Course (within 90 days of hire)
  • 1 year of nursing experience with demonstrated leadership abilities

Qualifications

  • Circulating experience in the Operating Room (strongly preferred)
  • BSN (preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of recent OR experience (strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated competency in circulating across multiple surgical specialties
  • Charge or leadership experience
  • CNOR (preferred)

Pay

Pay range: $77.41 – $107.19 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
