Overview

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the health care needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties. The 102-bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, the Breast Health and Women’s Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and carries a Level II stroke certification. Additionally, the hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology, surgery and pulmonology. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital also offers outpatient services including physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.

Role Purpose

Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in general radiology on adults and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control. Assists staff technologist in prioritizing and problem-solving patient care or imaging issues, and serves as a resource person. Delegates tasks to ensure proper daily operations. Assumes responsibilities of supervisor in their absence. Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees. Provides continuing mentorship to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
  • Informs patient on instructions and what the procedure entails with a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Performs radiographic imaging examinations independently, in on-call situations (if applicable), portable exams, and other tasks assigned by the department.
  • Manages shift operations to include daily workflow, assignments, lunch schedules, and adjusts priorities and assignments to best meet department needs.
  • Enters/escalates IT and equipment tickets.
  • Serves as the clinical resource and expert for the technologists. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to: problem solving, assisting with difficult exams, and mentoring.
  • Serves as the clinical liaison between the team and leadership team. Ensures that proper information is communicated from the team and escalated to the supervisor appropriately.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Associate or Trade School
  • Experience: 2-5 years Supervisor Experience
  • Licenses & Certifications: IEMA - Illinois only, excl MRIRadiology Technologist - Reg Experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience: 5-10 years
  • Licenses & Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
