About the role
The Hospitals of Providence is seeking a ICU - Intensive Care Unit Charge Nurse (RN) for ongoing 36-hour per week shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provides guidance and support to staff
- Maintains a safe environment
- Ensures patient throughput
- Directs nursing staff
- Works cooperatively with medical providers to ensure quality of patient care
- Oversees patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Mentors and trains new staff
- Communicates protocol changes to staff
- Maintains compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintains accurate records
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing preferred
- 1 year of RN experience required
- Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy
- AHA BLS certification required
- If applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP certifications required
Qualifications
- Current CPR certification

- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures
