Charge Nurse LPN
Job Responsibilities
- Affords assistance to team members with resident services and activities of daily living.
- Makes shift rounds with physicians.
- Fulfills proper infection control practices.
- Assesses resident injuries and renders first aid or refers to physician and/or emergency room.
- Responds to resident call light requests promptly.
- Communicates about resident condition with other team members; reports changes to physician, guardian, and family.
- Notifies clinical leader of major problems and recurrent grievances.
- Keeps dining team informed of diet changes.
- Performs resident assessments upon admission; documents assessments, treatments, reactions, and outcomes.
- Initiates development of care plans for household/neighborhood residents; evaluates resident response to plan of care and recommends modifications.
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physician and nursing orders.
- Ensures resident safety, comfort, and regulatory compliance during clinical rounds.
- Educates residents (and others) about medical issues and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Responsible for resident clinical records according to established policies and procedures.
- Monitors clinical operations in designated area, household, or neighborhood to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Attends in-service education programs, team conferences, and nursing services conferences.
- Trains other clinical team members in nursing skills and best practices.
- Serves as a role model of professional nursing practices.
- Advocates for quality clinical services.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a diploma or degree.
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Virginia.
- CPR/AED certification required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Frequent lifting (up to 50lbs).
- Extensive walking, bending, stooping, standing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
- Ability to work inside and outside to effectively make rounds daily throughout the facility and to respond to problems and emergencies.
