About the role

The Charge Nurse (LPN) oversees nursing services during assigned shifts, supervises caregiving teams, ensures residents' needs are met, and communicates changes in resident condition to families, physicians, and nursing leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee nursing services, administration, and clinical supervision during assigned shifts
  • Ensure compliance with nursing care standards, policies, and procedures
  • Serve as a key clinical resource, supporting care delivery and fostering a safe, respectful environment
  • Complete and update resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation as needed
  • Communicate changes in resident condition to families, physicians, and nursing leadership
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols
  • Conduct routine rounds to ensure resident needs are being met
  • Address, document, and report incidents, accidents, and concerns, including suspected abuse or neglect
  • Ensure appropriate supplies, equipment, and medications are available and communicated to leadership
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote quality care and resident safety

Requirements

A current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license is required. Familiarity with state and federal nursing regulations, strong communication, leadership, and clinical judgment skills, and experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or senior living are preferred. Passion for resident-centered care and team collaboration, alignment with Americare’s Mission, Vision, Home Town Hospitality, and F.A.M.I.L.Y. Values, and commitment to physical demands (lifting up to 25 lbs. and assisting with resident transfers) are also essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a licensed practical nurse program and current licensure as an LPN are mandatory. Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or senior living is preferred.

Pay

$30-$33 per hour, starting salary.
