Charge Nurse - ICU, Night Shift

Role Overview This position involves coordinating and delivering high-quality nursing care across various patient populations, from birth through the lifecycle, while managing operational issues during shifts. The nurse provides clinical care as needed, communicates patient and departmental updates, and serves as a resource for staff guidance and support. Key Responsibilities Coordinate patient care delivery ensuring safety and quality standards are met.Provide direct clinical care based on census demands.Communicate effectively with staff, leadership, and stakeholders regarding patient progress, departmental issues, and staff concerns.Lead and support nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and ethical practice environment.Implement and evaluate individualized care plans, promoting health and safety.Utilize evidence-based practices and current research to improve nursing services.Ensure compliance with regulatory and certification requirements, maintaining necessary licensure and certifications.Gather and analyze assessment data to identify diagnoses, problems, and outcomes, developing strategies to meet care goals.Practice in accordance with diversity, inclusion, and ethical standards, maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum of 1 year hospital nursing experience; 2+ years preferred.Current RN licensure and multistate licensure as applicable.Required certifications include BCLS, ACLS, PALS, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy, NRP, PEARS, and specialty-specific credentials.Additional certifications may be required based on unit, such as TNCC, ENPC, or Fetal Monitoring.Ability to analyze assessment data, develop and implement care plans, and coordinate care effectively.Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills essential to support team and patient needs.
