Charge Nurse- Emergency Department- Part-Time- Nights

About the role

Beacon Health System is hiring a part-time, night-shift Charge Nurse for their Emergency Department at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, IN.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and addressing patient concerns promptly.
• Managing bed assignments and patient transfers.
• Communicating effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Supporting unit performance improvement and peer review.
• Interpreting and enforcing hospital policies.
• Adjusting staffing based on patient needs and skill levels.
• Providing direct care when needed.
• Assigning care appropriately and resolving staffing issues.
• Reporting supply or service concerns.
• Aiding in performance reviews and staff development.
• Planning and prioritizing patient care.
• Maintaining accountability and competence.
• Upholding patient dignity and confidentiality.
• Delegating responsibly while retaining accountability.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required or certification in a specialty area.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Indiana.
• One to two years of progressively more responsible nursing experience.

Details: 7p-7:30a, 5 shifts per pay period.
