Charge Nurse Behavioral Health

About the Role

The Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit is a 44-bed unit providing a therapeutic, engaging environment for children ages 4 to 18. The care team, including psychiatrists, therapists, and nurse practitioners, makes an impact on children’s lives through day-to-day care and decision-making. The role involves working hands-on with children struggling with depression, anxiety, suicide, self-control, and trauma, teaching them new emotional and behavioral skills in a fun and interactive way.

Schedule

Full-time, Evening-Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assess, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the delivery of patient care on the assigned shift.
• Supervise and evaluate work performance in accordance with established criteria-based standards of performance.
• Coordinate clinical operations.

Requirements

• Current RN License in the State of Alabama.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing, which must be achieved within three years of starting the role (Associate's degree RN currently in the role may be grandfathered in).
• 2 years or more of clinical nursing experience preferred, including 1 year of recent pediatric, psychiatric, or OR nursing experience.

Qualifications

Equivalent qualifications may include:

• Registered Nurse AL Single State or Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State.
• Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• 2 years of job experience as Staff Level with specialization in Acute Nursing.
