About the role
The RN Charge Nurse provides leadership, clinical expertise, and coordination on their shift and department. They assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and ensure optimal staffing levels aligned with patient requirements and budget considerations. They act as a role model of professionalism, competency, and accountability, mentoring staff and promoting best practices.
Responsibilities
- Delegate care and manage resources
- Evaluate patient responses and ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards
- Facilitate effective communication and conflict resolution
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain patient safety, operate equipment, and perform manual handling as required
Requirements
- Current RN license
- BLS certification
- Clinical experience in the assigned area
Qualifications
- BSN preferred, with a requirement to obtain it within four years if not already held
