About the organisation
INRAE (Institut national de recherche pour l’agriculture, l’alimentation et l’environnement) is a public research institution with a workforce of 12 000 people across 272 research, service and experimental units located in 18 centres throughout France. INRAE ranks among the world’s leading organisations in agricultural, food, plant and animal sciences. Its research aims to develop solutions for multi-performance agriculture, high-quality food, and sustainable management of resources and ecosystems.
About the role
You will work within the Tropical Agroecosystems Research Unit (UR ASTRO), which pursues an interdisciplinary research project on the “Agro-ecological transition of tropical agricultural systems in a context of resilience to global change”. Based in Guadeloupe, UR ASTRO has two objectives: (1) scientifically, to generate new knowledge and develop innovative methods for understanding and increasing the resilience of tropical agricultural and food systems, facilitating their agro-ecological transition through a multi-scale, interdisciplinary approach; (2) operationally, to contribute to innovation and decision support by accompanying local stakeholders in the agro-ecological transition and sustainable development of tropical agricultural systems.
Your mission will be part of the TAESA project, which seeks to remove barriers to the agro-ecological transition and promote the emergence of local, sustainable food systems in Guadeloupe. The project brings together research teams, farmers, institutions and socio-economic actors.
